After collecting about 20 quotes, I decided on G&L because they offered a discount for active military. They are listed as a transporter on this website but nonetheless they had another company ship the car (02 Mini Cooper) from Phoenix to Arlington VA. G&L initially dispatched the shipment via CC&A but the CC&A driver's schedule didn't match my desired pickup date/time, so that was cancelled and they hired another carrier (Cand J?) which picked up the car at about 1130PM on Tuesday. Because they had an extra driver, the car got here only 3 days later. I had to argue with Cand J because they didn't want to deliver in my neighborhood and wanted me to come out somewhere and meet them and were in a big hurry. Finally they agreed to drop off my car with another in Rockville Md and hire a local flatbed to deliver it the next day. All this happened without problems although I was concerned about the extra wear and tear on my car associated with the extra truck transfer. In trying to argue about a new small scratch on the front of the car, it became obvious that since my car had been handled by several carriers, there was no way I was going to get any claim money without taking someone to small claims court, so I just gave up and paid. The bottom line is the broker (in this case G&L) did a good job but most of the action in transporting a car is done by various carriers with varying quality over which the broker has minimal control other than coordinating schedules and negotiating prices.
