Overall, I'd rate my experience with G&L Enterprises as good but not excellent. Fred was helpful (and humorous) on the phone. Using this site, I requested bids from approximately a dozen highly-rated carriers. I decided to contract with G&L based on their high ratings and their competitive rates. Pickup was arranged quickly, it was on time, and my contact at the pickup location informed me that Charles, the driver, was very courteous. At time of pickup, Charles said the transport would take approximately one week. But things went less than perfectly after pickup and a significant delay resulted. Ten days after pickup, I hadn't received any calls from G&L and my car hadn't arrived. I contacted G&L to inquire about my job. G&L couldn't provide an update but Fred contacted the trucking company. The driver called me back to say he expected the car to be delivered in a few more days. The driver made good on that prediction. In all, the transport took thirteen days (the trip was approximately 1750 miles, from Colorado to Maryland), six or seven days longer than quoted. The driver said that his trailer experienced three tire failures along the way as long as a leaf spring failure. The good news was that neither his truck or its cargo was damaged as a result of the failures. Understanding that break-downs happen, I don't blame G&L for the delay. But communication could've been better. If I'd received a call to let me know of the delay, this review would be excellent. Fred seems like a responsible guy and I hope he can incorporate a notification system into his business to inform customers if the delivery is to be delayed by more than a day or two. In all, my car arrived safely, and that's the biggest consideration for me.
