Freightquote provided a quote for shipping two coin-operated arcade machines cross country. Shipment was discussed with Freightquote and discussions by others with Freightquote were documented online. Arcades routine ship with classification code 100 or 125. Dimensions were provided by seller with 20 years experience (as the largest arcade auctioneer) palletizing games. Freightquote sent out the quote, with a total of $484 for this shipment from Frontline Carrier Systems. The Bill of Lading was specific to item, class, weight, size. Item was picked up and arrived two weeks later. Two weeks AFTER that I receive notification by email that an adjustment in the amount of $782.96 was being levied against my shipment, yes 2.5X the original amount ! Stated that the weight class and the dimensions were wrong. Hmm funny they had no issues except after the fact. Out of curiosity I re-quoted on Freightquote the same trip but assumed their claimed class, dimensions and weights. THE SAME CARRIER (Frontline) that picked up the shipment in June, quotes $767 TOTAL, not the $1267 I was charged. So lets go thru this: 1) All relevant shipment information was provided both to Freightquote and transmitted to their contractor Frontline 2) Having all the relevant information Freightquote approved and carrier dutifully picked it up without complaint 3) 2 weeks after dropoff later levy a 2X surcharge, saying I got it wrong on the BOL. Thats their story and they are sticking to it. Shame on Freightquote and Frontline for their highly deceptive practices. Avoid them. Stick with legit shippers like Fedex and DHL.
