I had submitted for price quotes on some site through google and a bunch promptly responded. Fairway had the lowest price and once I contacted them they assured me promptness and Carl kept telling me about his 20 years in the business. I received a contract by email which I reviewed and returned with approval. The contract and Carl both stated it would cost me $725 and would be picked up on Sept. 6th I contacted them on the 4th. Well the 6th came and went and no word, so I contacted Carl yet again and like always he acted as if he didn't know who I was then once he looked me up he would quickly feed me a line of foowie and get me off the phone quickly. He told me that the truck that was gonna pick up had broken down and he was searching for someone else to get it going sooner. I spoke with another broker meanwhile trying to salvage this mess. The guy told me for the price I paid no one would pick my car up, he also told me he could have a pick up for the up coming Saturday. Since Fairway had me pay $175 immediately through paypal I was stuck waiting, but now he tells me the only guy he has will show up Saturday, what a coincidence. I was finally contacted by the trucking company for pickup and they said they were contracted from the 6th! Meanwhile I am in California renting cars while I wait. I called Carl many times in regards to his dishonesty and how he handled this and he had nothing to say other than tuff!!! The trucking company called me the day before delivery to confirm at which time they told me that I would owe them $650 at delivery instead of the agreed upon $550 I disputed and they said they would have to put my car in storage until the matter was resolved. I went on Paypal and disputed and won my case against Fairway and my $175 was refunded. The very next morning bright and early who calls? Carl going crazy about how I cant get my car till I pay the total in cash. I spoke with the admin at the trucking co. and they were stuck in the middle due to some contract between them and the broker so I understood. She contacted fairway and they faxed her my contract which she forwarded to me, and also Carl was kind enough to email a copy of this new contract. What it was is my original top page I agreed to and my electronic signature and all the following pages were edited with the new prices and what ever else suited them. I immediately contacted my attorney and explained the situation and he began making calls. He spoke with the trucking co. and got their side of the story and then with Carl, Carl told his lies and preached his contract. I forwarded my original contract and the new one to my attorney which were date stamped. He reviewed them and told me that he could tell that the other pages were added. He called Fairway back and explained that they were crooks and told them they couldn't get away with it, when Carl was stuck he fired obscenities and hung up on my lawyer. The lawyer called back several time even asking to speak with Jonathan the owner and he was repeatedly connected with Carl who hung up. So he called the trucking co. and advised to contact a attorney because the contract they had was not binding. They were contacted by the broker asking them to lie about the dates and contract! the lady did not agree finally an honest person. So Carl knew he was stuck he called the lawyer and said he would split the difference and accept $775 which is still higher than agreed on but I really couldn't live without my car any longer. I filed an online report with the FBI online fraud dept. and am currently working on a class action lawsuit if anyone would like to jump on board please email me! These crooks live off of peoples desperation for a bargain they only screw you on a couple of hundred dollars because they realize that people will pay it to retrieve their vehicle and it would cost them more to sue than just lose! Don't be a victim!!
