I ordered a hand made fire pit from TN and he uses Estes for delivery so I had no idea what I was in for. The pit was shipped with a lid and a poker strapped to the top of the fire pit. I have pics to verify this. I called after a few days to check shipping status after getting the tracking number and a guy told me he thought he saw it on the dock and it's definitely not there anymore so it must have shipped. He explained that sometimes the truck drivers "forget" to do their logs. He told me not to worry it will show up. After a week of calls to my local office I found that it was shipped to Minneapolis instead of my SD office. I get apologies and am told it will be be only one more day. Nope. We found out it was in Kansas City instead of MSP, but sure enough it still went to MSP and then to Des Moines for some reason and then finally it arrived in my local dock. Kansas City is only 5 hours away from me. I could have driven down myself to get it a lot faster than the delivery 2 days later. The worst is yet to come. I was very specific about the delivery of this item because a semi truck cannot go down my driveway so I told them I would come pick it up with our own pick up. When I called to make an appt for me to come pick it up I was notified it was already out for delivery on the truck so I had to talk to the driver to make other arrangements. Needless to say I had to have my husband drive our tractor a mile away to get the pallet from the side of a busy highway. And to top it all off, the fire pit was just resting on a pallet without any straps holding it down and without the lid and poker strapped to the top. We had to use our own straps to hold it in place on the tractor for transport back to our house. The driver of the truck thought we were moving the fire pit from another house and thought it was weird there were no straps either. Since the shipper sent it with a lid and poker and we received it without both of these items, it's only logical that there was some sort of mishap along the way. Maybe they were stolen? Maybe it fell over and nobody noticed? Maybe a driver "forgot" to log in that he left them somewhere? I will never know because Estes is claiming it's not their responsibility and I am now in an unfortunate situation with the shipper trying to figure out a solution. The shipper has filed a claim but they are still saying it's not their responsibility that they didn't deliver the lid and fire poker. Do not use this company!!
