I purchased a vehicle in Illinois but live in AZ. I had asked Elite Auto Carriers to transport the vehicle in an enclosed container. I explained to Jeff (Elite Auto) that I needed the car to be picked up on Thurs Nov 19, 2009 because I would fly out the next day. So it was imperative that the 19th was the only day it could be picked up because I don't live in Chicago. Jeff said he would guarantee it would be picked up on the 19th or my money back and I asked for it IN WRITING (which I have). They charged me a $200 deposit in order to take the job. The 19th came and the driver that was suppose to pick up the car didn't show and that was when numerous calls were made between Elite Auto (transport broker), the actual driving company and myself. In the end, they couldn't pick up the vehicle on the 19th but asked if I could drop the car off in some city outside of Chicago approx. 35-45 miles away (about an hours drive) and leave it at a terminal. I told them that it didn't make any sense, I don't know my way around Chicago, I have no way to get back once I drop off the car and leaving the vehicle at a terminal for who knows how long totally defeated my purpose of requesting an enclosed carrier. I ended up driving the car back to AZ. I called Elite Auto to get a refund on the $200, they would not give it to me even though I said I have it in writing.

In short, I have in writing a full refund of my deposit if the car did not get picked up and Elite Auto Carriers won't honor it.

I apologize that you feel we didn't honor any commitment. However, it states very clear in writing on the contract you signed that we do not guarantee dates. We did have a driver dispatched to pick up your vehicle on the 19th. But do to unforseen circumstances he was running behind schedule. We understood you had to catch a flight and suggested leaving it at a terminal to make sure we got it done and you caught the flight. It was only 30 minutes away. We even offered to pay for a taxi back to your hotel and apologized for the inconvenience but the car would definitely get picked up the next day. We made all attempts to get this done for you and went above and beyond for you but you didn't want us to get it done. In the end we do apologize.
