I called this company several weeks ago and obtained a quote. At the same time I called several other companies. Only one called me back and they were priced $25 higher, so I decided to book with Door-To-Door. When I called today I gave all of my information, including my credit card number (though they don't accept credit cards - BOGUS) which they needed for verification. I was then emailed a signature release form & deposit instructions. This is where I was tipped off that this "company" is a scam. First, the email came from dispatch [at] gmail [dot] com. Not a company email. Second, they wanted me to wire them money via Western Union or I could overnight them a certified check or money order.
The money they wanted me to send was a deposit (which I learned, after reading this email, is the sign on a scam shipping company).
This led me to Transport Reviews, where I found others experienced exactly what I did. Right down to the same exact email.
I immediately called my bank and explained the situation. My credit card has been cancelled so these slimeballs will not get any money from me. Please, DO NOT DEAL WITH THEM!
