Great service but check what you are charged

When I shopped for carriers I got a few quotes and Domestic Auto Transport called me soon after as well as emailing me. They explained how things worked and quoted me a slightly lower price than the email quote based on my car size. The price was actually the lowest but still high enough for drivers to pick it up "off the board", they said. I talked to some other companies but the next day I called back DAT to sign up. With DAT, the payments work like this: No cash is due upon pick-up. My CC would be charged about 1/3 of the total cost once it was confirmed that my car was on the truck, and then i would pay the balance to the delivery man upon delivery (cash or money order).

My otherwise great experience was marred in the end because DAT charged my credit card about $7 more than the price on the invoice, and it took me two emails to get a response. This was supposedly a Paypal fee. Prices quoted should be the final cost, including any unavoidable processing fees because in the end the customer is paying it. Being upfront about this would not have made me surprised after looking at my credit card bill.
