Not sure about process

Nothing really went "wrong"...it was just not what I expected. Holly, my customer service person was great...really friendly and patient. I guess I didn't realize I was dealing with a broker in DAT, I thought I was dealing with the actual transport company (hence the name, Domestic Auto Transport)...but it became clear to me after the issue of shipping my car "early" came up and Holly then explained the business of what DAT actually is.

The email that was sent to me to confirm my quote was unclear, I didn't realize there was an additional broker fee...because it didn't say it anywhere in the email, I thought the quote was all I had to pay. They should read thier email..it's pretty clear, I'd be surprised if most people do not realize there is an additional broker fee no top of the quote.

A couple days after DAT confirmed my shipping, Holly called to let me know that my car could get shipped that day...but the driver wanted an additional $50.00, which seemed odd to me...but then understanding they were just brokers and at the mercy of what the driver wanted...I begrudgingly agreed. I know they say the car will be shipped (hopefully) within 10 days...but it seemed odd that they would call after confirmation to tell me there is an additional charge to ship it "that day" just because a driver/company wants more money. BUT, it did make sense when realizing DAT are just brokers.

Now that I understand the business DAT is in (broker vs. actual transport company), I guess I understand how things got a little "off". They did credit my account and Holly was patient to make me understand everything. But I really do feel that the DAT info is unclear..but whatever they seem to have a lot of great reviews so this can't happen all the time..I'm just glad I have my car, which came perfectly.
