Bad Experience

My car was assigned to A & S Transport and picked up on time, but to our surprise they didn't arrive with a car carrier. The transport driver sent his son to pick up our car and they drove our car to an un-specified location to be loaded on the carrier, which made us nervous. The driver's son would not accept our cashiers check made out to the co. name so we had to purchase another check made out to his fathers name, Alvaro Salcedo. We scheduled our trip to CA to coinside with the delivery date. However, on that date we got a call saying that the truck broke down in Louisianna. The car now would be a week late, so we had to spend $200 to rent a car. A week later after we made several calls to see where the driver was, we were told he was in Long Beach (45 mins. from our house). Since this was early in the morning, we felt sure we would see our car within the hour and decided to return the rental car as not to incurr more charges. After several hours of waiting we called again to be told that the driver was lost! This was a bit fishy since he was only 45 mins from our location. He never showed up that day, but was here the following day. My advice is to be sure that you see your car put onto the carrier. I do not think the truck broke down as stated, but that our car sat around waiting for other vehicles before leaving FL. The tires on our Mercedes were covered with mud and there is no mud near our home. Malia from Domestic was polite and sympathetic, but could do nothing to help the situation. I feel that the broker should have done a better job of screening carriers. This was not a good experience!
