The pick up and deliver was on schedule and was coordinated. After establishing the trucking company that will transport the vehicle it is my recommendation that the cell number for the driver be given even if it only goes to voice mail. The broker was not authorized to give out the cell phone number of the truck driver. We eventually got the cell number from the driver himself after initial pickup. If we had the number before the pickup we could have communicated with the driver and determined better approximately when the pickup would occur. Since we had the number for the delivery we were able to communicate the day before delivery, get a feel for when delivery would take place and help guide the driver with any information we had, such as a road closure that could require a last minute routing change. It is important to be able to schedule blocks of time so both the driver and the customer can carry out their work and minimize expense. The current information is the important point. We can all adapt to a change if we know about it. There is nothing worse than waiting a whole day only to be told at the eleventh hour that delivery will be first thing the next morning. If you know in advance that delivery will be the next morning you can plan accordingly. In my case both locations had gate houses which had to be alerted to the delivery.
