Domestic Auto Transport Saved the Day

This was my first time arranging the transportation of two of my vehicles A month before I needed my cars transported, I sent out a request for quotes. The first that happens is that you are bombarded with quotes from dozens of companies repeatedly. I ultimately decided on a company that offered the lowest quote ($1,750.00) and had a good rating on Transport Reviews. I spoke with the owner who seemed like a nice enough guy and then hammered out the specifics (pickup date, vehicle info, transport time etc...) He advised me that he would call me about a week before the scheduled pickup date of 3/27/13. During this time, I am consumed with all the other details of moving cross country. On Monday, (2 days prior to the scheduled pickup date), it occurs to me that I have not heard from this auto transport company. I immediately call them and no one is answering the phones plus you cannot leave any messages because all of the mailboxes are full. I send the owner an email asking him to call me within 30 minutes or I will be cancelling and seeking a more reliable broker. The next night, I receive an email from the owner letting me know that he is celebrating Passover and would be in the office on Thursday, the day after I will have already caught my flight to AZ. He ends the email affirming what excellent service his company provides. That communication ended with a few choice works for him and service. I am now leaving Hilton Head in 2 days and have no transportation for my vehicles.

I ultimately made contact with Kimberly at Domestic Auto Transport who sprung into action and was able to have my cars picked up on Friday and delivered to AZ by Wednesday. The expedited service cost me $2,200.00, but was worth it considering my options. Everything Kimberly promised was spot on. No low-ball quotes, false pickup or delivery dates. Both cars were picked up on the date promised and actually delivered a day early.

Whatever happened to under promise and over delivery vs. the other way around?

I rarely leave reviews, positive or negative, but when I do, I hope that others will benefit from my experiences and lessons learned. In this case, the lowest freight quote is definitely not always the best. Also, take the ratings lightly as there is an option for me after completely this review to state whether I have or expect to be compensated for my review. The answer is no, and for the record, I don't think anyone should be compensated for their review.
