Damaged truck and delayed shipping

My truck was late to be picked up, then several days late to be dropped off. The carrier was extremely difficult in getting a hold of the entire time my vehicle was in transit, to the point where I came close to reporting it stolen. When it did arrive, it had considerable damage (dents, scratching) and I was told I needed to go through the shipping company to address any grievances. While I understand this, the carrier has been consistently difficult to get a response from or a hold of - leaving me to default back to the Direct Connect Auto (the company I selected for doing business, I did not choose the carrier - they did). I feel it is a game of passing you off to the carrier and Direct Connect takes little responsibility in resolving the issue even after i sent the photos of considerable damage.
