After a bit of research into classic car shipping, including reading several reviews on transportreviews.com, I concluded that there are honest, legitimate movers and there are others. I obtained a number of quotes, including one from DeMoise Trk'ing via their website. Because DeMoise had only excellent reviews, I chose them to move my 1979 Porsche 911 SC (with only 25K miles in mint condition bought new by myself in Dallas) by closed carrier to its new owner in Austin, Texas.
I cannot tell you how pleased I am with the forthright communications with Bill DeMoise himself during the booking, the quality of the equipment, and care taken by Don DeMoise, the driver. Also, and importantly in this world of increasingly high costs, the price was very competitive. The pickup was on time as scheduled and the delivery was the same. I can understand why DeMoise is a favored mover of Porsche dealers who move new $100K plus vehicles all around the country all the time. In fact, there was a new Porsche Carrera 4 in the carrier when Don picked up my 911.
A big thanks to both Bill and Don Demoise: I strongly recommend Demoise Trk'ing, you will not be dissapointed.
