Lousy company.

I wish we had looked at this site before we hired DAS. "Dependable" Auto Shippers was anything but dependable. We chose them because they offered "door to port" service, and I knew I wouldn't see my husband for a while, so I wanted him home as long as possible. I thought the extra $500 we would have to pay to have them pick the car up directly would be worth it. Boy was I wrong.

The company had scheduled the pick up of his vehicle on a Thursday (8/11/11). It was the last week he would be home. No one ever showed up. Friday, we called them multiple times to finally be told that the truck had issues and that was why no one showed up. We would have appreciated a call. They were picking the car up the next Tuesday, which meant I had to take a day off of work without much notice. My employer wasn't too happy about that. In addition, the truck driver called me from a fast food restaurant and let me know he didn't think he could get his truck down our street, could I please bring the car to him. Now, I understand that, but it was still annoying. So I worked with the driver, and off the car went.

Last week (9/5/11) my husband gets a call that his car will be available to be picked up on Friday. YAY! Friday rolls around and he turns in his rental car and gets a cab to take him to the port. Except... the cabbie can't find the port. Turns out, they had shipped the car to the wrong Hawaiian island. So with no car, my husband is forced to walk to work for the next five days as we wait for them to ship the car from that island to our island.

After calling DAS and explaining my extreme displeasure with their company, I am told that they will reimburse us $100. Out of the $2,570 we paid them. Ridiculous.

I would not recommend this company to anyone.
