Pulled the typical broker bait & switch - cost me lots of time and money

Please don't use this company to transport your car! Facts - I was getting rates for my AZ-GA move from about 10 different companies for $800-$1100, but because of my conversations with them and their reviews, I booked with Crystal Car Shipping for $935. 1 day before pickup she told me there was an issue with the driver, and he couldn't pick my car, but she will work on it. A couple hours later she says that she found another driver, but for $1850, but after talking with her manager, she could do $1450. When I reached out to other companies that gave me quotes, their price was no longer in the $800-$1100, range, but in the $1500-$2000 range. I asked the other companies why the price increased so much, and they said it was because Crystal Car Shipping had the lane posted on a load board for $1200, which means that no driver will do it less than that now. So not only did this company delay me in getting my car, it cost me a lot of money since they jacked up the price of the lane. What I think happened - I think they never had a driver for this move and when I started putting pressure of her, she panicked and posted the load for money and the first offer she got was $1450. When I talked to her on the phone before booking she said it was a super popular lane and she could do it no problem, but then when "the driver had an issue at their previous pickup location" and couldn't pick up the load, on the phone she said there is no drivers in the area and it's not a good lane. Everything that is wrong with the auto transportation broker industry - all the things they warn you about - happened to me with this company. Please don't use them, because not only will it cost you time, it will cost you a lot of money since they will jack up the lane so you can't go back to their competition for the same price.

We have investigated your order and we have to admit that the information provided by your shipping agent is true and the driver that was originally assigned to your order has canceled due to losing his other loads. We had to search for other options and we apologize for the price change. If you allow, we can go ahead and send some requests to the drivers that operate on your route in order to see what other options are there.
