We are a transport company. We hauled a vehicle for Cross Country. They gave it to us as a COD load. In other words, the customer was supposed to pay us directly for the transportation. Upon delivery we were given a certified check made payable to Cross Country. The customer refused to have the check changed into our name. We called Cross Country and told them of the situation. We suggested accepting the check and sending it to Cross Country under the understanding that Cross Country would in turn send us our money right back. They recieved the money the first week of August 2008. It is now January 23 2009 and Cross Country won't answer thier phones, e-mails, or faxes. I have contacted the insurance company representing Cross Country to file a claim against their bond and was informed that there exist many claims against said bond. Although I have started the process of filing, I will likely never be paid. These are NOT honorable people...in fact they are crooked as hell. If you read this, please do yourself a favor...stay away...far far away from this sorry excuse for a company.
