DO NOT USE COUNTRYWIDE!!!!!

This is the worst experience of my life! I should have read these reviews before hiring this company. I paid Countrywide on June 18 to transport my vehicle. The vehicle was to be picked up at a car dealership on July 5. To date it has not been picked up. Every time I called to get a status, I got the run-around. Finally, I was told that if I pay an additional $250 for expedited service, they could guarantee pickup. Well, by that time I had already read enough reviews on them to know better than to give them more money. When I told them about the bad reviews, they said most of the reports were false and they were doing an investigation. I'm sure these reports are quite true because I have had a similar experience with Countrywide.

On June 22 I called to cancel my order and was told to call back later because the guy who does cancellations was not available. I called back later to be told the same thing. Then I inquired about the refund procedures and was told I would get a full refund. So once again, I demanded that the order be cancelled. They would not cancel the order and told me to call back the next morning.

I called back this morning, demanded that the order be cancelled and they asked why I was cancelling. I told them that they had not delivered by vehicle as promised so I hired another company. They wanted to know who I had hired and I refused to tell them. They said they could not cancel and give me a refund unless I told them who I had hired. I would not tell them. They said they need to know because it may be in conflict with the carrier that was assigned to pick up my vehicle. I asked them for the name of the carrier, and they said they wouldn't tell me until I told them which carrier I had hired. This was totally outrageous!!! I demanded, once again, to cancel the order!! I was told that in order to cancel, I would have to fill out a cancellation form. So they asked for my email address to get the order form to me. I gave it to them. No order form was emailed to me. I called back and was told by another person that they don't email cancellation forms - they fax them. I told them I don't have a fax machine. Then they said, "oh wait a minute - your car is scheduled to be picked up on the 25th! We have a driver." I said I didn't want to deal with them any longer and I wanted my refund. They said they couldn't give me a refund now because the driver is assigned - so I might as well go ahead and have them pick up the car.

I AM OUTRAGED!!!! I spent two days attempting to cancel this order and now they are saying that because they have a driver, I can't get a refund!! They are liars and deal in deceptive business practices. DON'T USE COUNTRYWIDE!!! I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau. I have called my attorney and my cc company to deal with them. How is this company still in business???
