Poorly Run Business

Did not have a pleasurable experience with Cosmos. Called to setup shipping and initiated order on April 26th. Car was available by May 1st. No where in their contract do they explain that there is a seven day waiting period after the car is available before they will find a carrier for you (Cosmos does not own any trucks, it is a broker). Very frustrating because this was poorly explained over the phone because I was under the impression the seven days would begin on the date the order was placed. While this did not anger me at first it is simply poor business practices. However that was a misunderstanding and well a week is slightly ridiculous I can understand.

However the main problem was that after 2 weeks from the date the car was available, almost 3 from when the order was placed, nothing had been done to find a carrier for my car. I called and my conversation went to my memory exactly like this:

Adam: "I am calling to find out if pickup has been setup for my vehicle, a Ford Ranger in Kentucky."
Cosmos: "Yes sir we are working on it, you will be notified when we find a carrier."
Adam: "It has been 2 weeks since I stated the car was available and almost 3 from when I placed the order, have you not done anything?"
Cosmos: "Well sir we have seven days after the when the car is available to find a carrier, by the seventh day we usually have found one but we are still working on it (Apparently now the seven days are business days--never stated to me at all)."
Adam: "Ok well I understand but I need to know if you are going to be able to find a carrier within two days, yes or no?"
Cosmos: "Sorry sir we cannot guarentee anything; we are working on it."
Adam: "Well I find that hard to believe because if you really were working on it, then you could tell me anything, something. I would really like to know anything that you know."
Cosmos: "Sorry sir we are working on it"
Adam: "Well I would like to cancel my order because you cannot be working on something you have no idea about."
Cosmos: "Your order has been cancelled no cost to you."

However learned later in the day that my father (the contact at the origin) had spoken with another rep at Cosmos and he claimed that he would try and take care of it within 48 hours, apparently was apologetic to our situation. In no way did the rep I spoke to act the same way and so I did cancel. My father tried calling the man he spoke to back but after the cancellation he said their seven day period would start again.

That same day I cancelled I called Express Auto Transport and I had a guarenteed pickup on the Thursday that week and guarentted delivery by the following Tuesday in Los Angeles. The difference in the two services was remarkable.

I would not recommend Cosmos because it is a poorly run business in my opinion. They seem to sit on your order for 7 business days before doing anything. Their customer reps are kept out of the loop or simply do not know anything. They quoted me cheap but I guess you get what you pay for, Express Auto Transport was a little bit more but it was worth every penny.

Hope this helps, goodluck.
