I had a car transported in November-December of 2009 during the east coast snowstorm season from Massachusetts to California and had a very poor experience with that company from New Jersey in regards to customer service, however, at least the price was $1050 total after 6 weeks of waiting.

When I contacted Corporate auto transport on March 4, I spoke with a very friendly sales representative whom had provided me with an initial stand by quote of $895 plus $195 in broker fees, however, I was led to believe not to hate the industry but to blame the carriers, since they are the individuals whom set the market prices, in regards to which cars that they want to pick up first, so I waited a bit since I had a couple of weeks to wait on receiving my car.

With that said, I had to constantly raise my quote from $895 to $990 to $1050 to finally $1100 on 3/14, almost two weeks after I had contacted Corporate auto transport, since I was told that cars are picked up from their place of origin at all sorts of prices and sometimes price is not the only variable. My sales representative had even told me that there had been several cars in the near by region of New York that were being picked up at the same quote as mine or even a bit lower that were being moved towards the west coast.

Finally, on March 19, I decided to give Amerifreight a chance to prove that they could arrange a carrier in a 4 day estimated pick-up time interval for $1050 plus $200 in broker fees which they stated that they could over the phone. It turned out that they couldn't fulfill their promise over the phone so I quickly went back to Corporate Auto Transport because they still had my deposit. I decided to keep the quote ceiling at $1100 because by this point it had been over three weeks and I had only received one inflated quote from Corporate auto transport and I needed the car shipped.

Anyway, on April 4, 2013, 30 days from my initial call to request pick-up for my 2003 Nissan Altima to be transported from New York to Nevada, Tara informed me that a carrier would move the car for $1125 and I would pay the broker fee of $195 so the total cost would be $1320 total. Since, I was initially offered a 3-5 estimated pick-up on March 4 from Corporate Auto Transport for $1050 plus a broker fee of $195 for a total $1245, I wasn't too thrilled, however, I agreed to it because I learned that it is best to buy a car locally or in a nearby state and just drive it back yourself. The carriers control the market and the brokers aren't necessarily any more knowledgable than any other broker, just more cordial and receptive.

Lastly, the carrier dropped my car off on the last possible moment, at midnight on the tenth day from pick up. I advocated for a 7-9AM delivery the following morning since I had to work that morning and didn't want to stay up past midnight as that was inconvenient for me, however, the carrier informed me that he had other cars to deliver in Las Vegas and Southern California and that he didn't want to change his delivery schedule to accommodate my work schedule. Well, at least this whole process was consistent.

We are disappointed to see this review from Brett considering he was explained the whole process/industry and variables involved upfront before he placed his order and he has never complained to us about our customer service and practices either. We even urged him to NOT place an order with us or anyone if he was not comfortable with this process/industry because the drivers are independent and their rates fluctuate frequently based on supply and demand. He claimed to understand this process and insisted on going the route he did with a lower than normal price to start with. We kept him well informed throughout his entire order and we did locate him a spot on a truck when other companies couldn't. We're sorry to hear his negative opinion on the industry in general in this review, but in regards to our customer service and honesty we feel that should've been rated 5 star. ~ Sincerely, C.A.T.
