My first experience shipping a classic car was a year ago, in March of 2010. Being a novice, I talked to a number of brokers, and finally chose one that gave me a quote that I considered acceptable, although it was somewhat toward the low end of the spectrum. After nearly a month, the car remained unshipped. Finally, after several calls, I told the broker to raise the price to a more reasonable level, and then the car was shipped within days. This year, I had a need to ship another car. Not wanting to repeat the previous experience, I contacted Core Nautical. I knew that they would be a little bit higher in price than the average rate, but I wanted professional service. I was somewhat concerned, because my car was in a small town about midway between Los Angeles and San Diego, and I thought it might take a long time to get it picked up. Core Nautical assurred me that although it might take a little while, it would probably only be a few days. I decided to contract with them for the job, and later that same day they called me back to say that a shipper was available for the pick-up. The car was on it's way the very next day, and arrived at my home in Colorado after three days. The truck driver was very courteous, and was easy to contact via cell-phone. My car arrived safe and undamaged. I would not hesitate to use Core Nautical again, should the need arise, nor would I hesitate to recommend them to anyone in need of this type of service. I think the old axiom holds true- you get what you pay for. In my experience with having a car shipped, it's worth paying a little bit extra for professional, prompt, and courteous service.
