This was my first experience shipping a vehicle and I was "fearful of the unknown". Also this is a busy time on the East Coast as all of the "snowbirds" are heading North. First, a went out to bid and received 9. Next, I visited Transport Reviews to determine the Companies' rating and written comments of past customers. I decided upon Coastal Car Transport. After calling and talking at length with Henry, I felt reassured that the whole process would go smoothly. I bought my airline tickets in advance to realize savings and selected the date of departure 10 after the first day of posting my van for shipment. The posting did not attract any Transport Companies, so I suggested that we increase the offering price. Henry advised that we should not go up beyond a certain point as the cost should be in line with cars that have recently been moved. At this point I realized that Henry was working on behalf of the customer and not the carrier. After the increase we had a Company offer its services. Henry spent the entire afternoon negotiating a final price with the Co. and my van was picked up that same night! The driver loaded the van and promised to be in Maine in four days. On the third day the driver called my daughter to confirm a delivery time for the next day. The van arrived in excellent condition with our personal items in place. Upon delivery, Henry called to inquire if the contract was fulfilled to my satisfaction and thanked me for the business. My van was moved from Florida to Maine in a professional and smooth manner. In fact, when I ship my vehicle next Fall, I will not seek other bids, but instead, call Henry at Coastal Car Transport.
