Overall, Classic Auto Express, the broker, and Bill’s transport, of Greene, Maine, the transport company, gave excellent service in bringing my 1997 Camry from Dover NH to Memphis TN. Carolyn with Classic was very cordial, easy to talk to and clear about Classic’s service. Bill’s transport used a brand new, state of the art, transport truck to bring my Camry to Memphis. They were very knowledgeable and professional at both pickup and drop off. From pickup to delivery took only 37.5 hours, and the drivers were excellent in keeping contact with me with their status and location.

You may want to keep a few things in mind if you are transporting a car.

Decide if you will accept a fee increase. I was asked for $75 extra, and consented to the upcharge.

If you are expecting door to door service, make sure your Broker and transporter can deliver. Bill’s truck had only a 4” clearance to the ground, was large and hard to maneuver, and I was informed on the day of pickup that they required a ‘big box’ store to pick up and drop off my car. This meant my car had to be driven untagged and uninsured to rendezvous at both origin and destination. I was lucky that a relative was able to arrange the pickup in New Hampshire, and of course I was able to arrange for a suitable drop off spot only 6 miles from my house.

Try not to deliver on the weekend. Your broker’s office may be closed, you may need support or guidance, and not be able to obtain that help until Monday.

Andrew, It was a pleasure doing business with you and just from our experience together I am clarifying with all my preferred carriers how they handle their "Door to Door" service so that in the furture this will not be a surprise to my preferred clients and that my customer service is more than above character.
