I was scammed by the company calling themselves Caviness Auto Carriers. After reading the reviews about them at this site, I can see that I am not the first to fall victim to their scam. Had I read these reviews first, I wouldn’t have made the same mistake. On 19 August 2009 I accepted a contract with Caviness Auto to move my personal vehicle from California to West Virginia. They required $100 down with the remaining due at delivery. In short, they have made no attempt to move my vehicle or to contact me and let me know why they hadn’t moved my car. It has been 64 days since I signed the contract and I am still without my vehicle. The scheduled move date was 10 September 2009. They do not answer their phone or respond to inquiries. The scam is really quite simple. I doubt they have ever moved a vehicle. They don’t guarantee a move date, they don’t give refunds and who can fly to Texas to prosecute them for one hundred dollars. I need my car more than I need $100; so I’m forced to find another carrier at which juncture they will probably claim that I am the one who breached the contract. Be wise and stay clear of this company, if they really are a company?
