Did not receive service promised.

I submitted my deposit to Caviness Auto Carriers on August 15th for vehicle pick up on August 28th, 29th or 30th. My vehicle was not picked up. I had to scramble to find someone to leave the vehicle with for pick up after I flew to Texas. I arrived in Texas without a vehicle and I thought it would still be OK. I thought they would pick up my vehicle the week of the 1st and things would be fine. All through this I made frequent phone calls and sent e-mails to Caviness for a status. Caviness did not answer my calls, but they occasionally answered e-mails and I was repeatedly told that they did not have a carrier yet. All this time, I had to rent a vehicle. This went on and on until September the 13th. My husband found this website and the unfavorable reviews. Actually the reviews are horror stories. We realized that the vehicle would probably not be picked up for quite some time and that then the delivery would be a nightmare.
We found another carrier towards the end of September and my vehicle arrived on the 27th of September. The new carrier informed us that we should never pay a deposit to a carrier for service . The full amount should be paid when the vehicle arrives at the destination.
I would never do business with Caviness Auto Carriers and I want to warn everyone about the lack of service and breach of promise.

Yes we did not get a hauler for Mona's car and we did all there was for us to do to get one in there for her. I do not know why we had such a problem with her car but we did. But she did not put in this note that her deposit was refunded back on to her credit card. And as for the hauler's they never collect the brokers money and we never collect the haulers money. There are all ways COD. Some have been know not to pay there bill on both sides. I know because I am a broker and a hauler. I parked our trucks in March 2007. But we have been in the truking Field over 47 years. And still going.
