Shipping three vehicles in two shipments

Avoid using them moving for a large SUV or any oversized vehicle!
I contacted Carmovers to ship my three cars from Maryland to Seattle. They were to pick-up my GMC Yukon 10 days before the move and the remaining two cars once the furniture had left. This would get a car in Seattle around the time we arrived by plane. The dispatcher understood my intentions and together we devised a schedule to fit this goal. The pick-up date for the Yukon came and went with a host of excuses from Carmovers. The shipping of the cars went on schedule. Finally, three weeks after the scheduled pick-up date of the Yukon and no truck scheduled, I cancelled the shipment and hired another company. Carmovers agreed to refund the $100 deposit. Now three months later despite multiple phone promises and faxed requests, no refund has been issued and today they informed me that they would not issue a refund because they had a truck "in the area". Anyone who has shipped cars before knows that most shipping companies, including Carmovers, own no trucks they are brokers and simply arrange moves. They quote you a price take their commission and post the shipment in a database. Once a trucking company accepts their offer (your payment minus their commission) they provide your contact info to the trucking company. Therefore, until they provide you the name and phone number of the driver assigned, no arrangements have been made regardless of the promises they make on the phone. In my case they have taken my deposit as their commission and provided no service. I have shipped my vehicles dozens of times over the past ten years and this is the first time I have ever had someone try to keep a deposit when no shipping arrangements had been made. Again if you are shipping an oversized vehicle choose someone else other than Carmovers.
