Lexus - reverse snowbird!

Preface: One of the best things about Capitol is that they don't bill your credit card until the driver confirms your vehicle is on the truck. There is no "refundable or non-refundable deposit" to worry about, no chance for bait and switch, etc. I couldn't find another broker that worked this way though there may be some that do. I just don't know.

I live in the Kansas City metro area and purchased a vehicle from friends that were retiring to Florida. Trouble was, the 2008 Lexus RX350 that I was buying from them was already in Florida. I arranged to buy it at a fair price from them and set out to find a carrier to get it to Kansas. I entered a request for quote online and my email was immediately flooded with a variety of offers, some with estimates, some without. Capitol Auto Transport was one of those who provided a quote. Shortly after I started getting quotes, I got a call from Dakota at Capitol. He wasn't pushy and gave me some great info about what to look for in a carrier, what questions to ask, the pitfalls, and some great information about the process. I appreciated it because this was my first time to transport a vehicle. He followed up our conversation with an email with same info and with his cell and other contact info.

About a week later, the Monday of Thanksgiving week, I was ready to arrange to move the car. I called Dakota and told him my plans and that I'd like the car whenever he could find a carrier. I knew it might be difficult due to the holiday. Well, he called me back about 2 hours later and said he had found a company that could pick it up Friday after T-giving. Not only that but it would be an enclosed trailer for the original quoted price, due to available capacity coming out of Florida this time of year.

The carrier ended up being Garrett at Gulf Coast Auto and I must say that he was great at customer service. He picked the car up in Florida right on time Friday afternoon, called me when he had it on board, called me again Saturday to let me know travel status and called Sunday morning to confirm final delivery time. He showed up on time and got it unloaded at my driveway and was very professional. Meanwhile, Capitol billed my credit card shortly after he picked it up in Ft Meyers and I paid the remaining balance directly to Garrett upon delivery. Dakota and Cat from Capitol were in constant email contact with me throughout the week up to and after final delivery and I had their cell numbers if needed.

Considering all of the horror stories I've read about doing a transport I am very impressed how well it all went and how easy it was on my nerves. I would absolutely recommend Capitol Auto Transport and I'll use them again if needed.

I am not getting anything for writing this review, I just appreciate great customer service and I hope this helps someone else that might be concerned about doing a transport for the first time.
