Outstanding performance on tough job

I discovered that Capitol Auto Transport is one of the few brokers who does NOT charge your credit card until they have confirmation from the driver that the vehicle has been *loaded* on the truck. Since I had lost my $90 deposit with the first broker I tried when I finally had to cancel my contract with them because after 3 weeks they couldn't get me a carrier, this was important to me. Many brokers say they only charge you "once a driver has been assigned" but that's not good enough - a driver can be assigned and then a problem occurs and they cancel the pickup (that happened to me with the first broker). I figured Capitol's policy meant they would have real motivation to make my transport happen as quickly as possible. Mike Dakota was my rep at Capitol and from the start he was totally straight and told me exactly why it would cost a little bit more than my previous broker had thought the job could be done for. My transport was a little tough: The pickup point was way out on Long Island and, worse, the drop-off point was 60 miles off the interstate down two-lane highways to a very out-of-the way location and my car was slightly oversize, heavy and did NOT run. Lots of carriers, particularly those who will take a low dollar offer to do a transport, simply won't sign on for something like this. He was right about that and I feel I got the best possible price that met my circumstances. Thanks, Dakota! People need to understand that these brokers have no control over the driver or what happens after your car is loaded on the truck - then it becomes the responsibility of the trucking company. So, it is important that your broker is careful about which driver or company they will assign to you. Capitol knows this and takes it into serious consideration. Bottom line: They did the job for me in an honest, professional manner and I'd use them again. Finally, they did NOT offer to pay me for this rating and review, and I would not have taken any compensation from them or anyone else anyway. They earned this review by actually doing the job right.
