I contracted with CSL Auto Transport (Chris Leeper) not fully understanding that he was only a broker and did not own the actual trucks that transport the cars. I told Mr Leeper that this '56 Ford had a very expensive paint job and that I needed a fully enclosed transport and paid the price for such. Also, It was critical that the car be picked-up on time, because I was moving across country the following day. I live in a very remote area of Idaho which is 140 miles from the nearest large city with an interstate. I made arrangements with Mr. Leeper to deliver the car to Missoula, MT so that the carrier could easily pick it up off I-90. The day before I was ready to leave (April 7th) Mr. Leeper called me and said that the the truck was having problems with the loading door and that they hoped it could be fixed by the next day. The next morning came and I was informed that the trailer could not be fixed and he could not get any other trailers. This was very bad news for me because I was moving the following day. The only option I had was to transport the car myself on my open flatbed car hauler to Boise Idaho some 5 hours away so a friend could keep it at his house until another trailer could be found. This was April 8th. Mr. Leeper called me a couple of times over the next week or so saying that the car would be picked up, but it didn't actually happen until April 28th. Before the carrier arrived in Boise, I called Mr. Leeper to make sure this was a hard shell enclosed carrier that was coming for my car and he assured me that it was. When the carrier showed-up, it was a soft sided trailer. My friend in Boise took pictures and sent them to me. I called Mr. Leeper and left a message asking for a partial refund. He never returned my call. I also sent him an e-mail with a picture of the soft sided trailer, but got no response. The car was very dirty when she finally got to Maine also with a broken rear deck radio antenna that the driver and I settled up on. I will never again use CSL Auto Transport.
