So here was my experience. Darla gave me the cheapest quote ($850), and found a shipping company to deliver the car from New Jersey to Los Angeles (They don't do the shipping themselves). She quoted me 5 days (claiming that the driver had told her that, though she hadn't yet found a shipping company nor yet spoken with the driver when I asked her. . . ), the driver quoted me 7 to 10 days, and the car arrived in 14 days. Not a big deal. I was in a rush, but there was bad weather, and there is not much you can do about that.
This is the funny part. The driver was an aggressive and mean Eastern European man, and when he neared Los Angeles to deliver the vehicle, he told me to have cash ready. I told him that Darla told me I can pay with credit card, and that it would be an extra 5% charge to use my credit card. He screamed and said "No!". He went on to imply that if I didn't have it in cash, he would not be delivering my car. So I was now being blackmailed by the driver. I, at this point, was scared he might do something to my car, so I said fine, just to not cause any more waves. Once he delivered the car, it was filthy, and he had me sign a paper that marked the condition of the vehicle. His paperwork showed that when he picked up the vehicle there was physical damage on all parts of the car, even though there was not at the point of pick up, nor at the point of delivery. So I'm assuming he had it marked as such so as to take him off the hook, just in case anything did happen to the car during shipment. I gave him the $700 cash (Darla made $150 out of the $850 for brokering the deal)
I would definately not work with Browns Auto Transport again. Darla brokers out to other shipping companies, so it's a coin toss of whether you'll be dealing with a professional company, or a lower tier hustler-like company. I had bad luck with a terrible company, but I would rather pay an extra $200 and get a more professional company, and peace of mind.
