On Friday, May 23rd, 2017 at 11:30 pm a representative from Beks Brothers Auto Transportation, LLC met me in Baltimore City to retrieve my 2012 Jeep Wrangler for transport. Per the contract, a $300 debt was paid previous to arrival for pick-up service and the remaining balance was to be paid upon drop off. In addition, the driver, Yared (spell check) requested a $200.00 CASH deposit for "personal items" in the vehicle (not explicitly written on contract). With little to no time in finding time to understand this random cash deposit he request, I paid to limit hassle (noted on receipt). The driver seemed over worked and overwhelmed with having needing to transport 6 or more vehicles on a freightliner car-hauler. To add, the Jeep is a manual transmission and the driver was obviously not an experienced driver as he appeared to struggle with operating the vehicle as he attempt to drive it onto the car-hauler ramp. This frighten me as I witnessed him burning the clutch and continuously stalling out previous to him eventually stationing it onto the car-hauler.

None-the-less, the car arrived in Glendale, California on Thursday, May 29th, 2017 at 3:12 am. The driver insist we use his flash light and check the Jeep for exterior damages, but my instinct insist that I test drive the Jeep before paying him the full deposit. Unfortunately, I immediately found the Jeep to be in "horrible" condition. It became obvious to both me and the driver that the mechanics of the Jeep were "different" than they once were previous to the pick-up date. The signs included misalignment of the interior sterling wheel causing an inability to drive straight without adjusting wheel to an awkward position, front right wheel bearing seemed discombobulated, heavy resistance to accelerate while shifting gears using clutch, and a smell of the clutch "burning" having driven it no more than 300 feet.

Upon my request, the driver called his "boss", Faried (spell check), who was very rude and obnoxious. His only real worry seemed to entail his driver receiving payment from me having "delivered" the car. When given the chance to talk to Faried, he used profanity and conveyed to me that it would be nothing that I could do so far as taking civil action or him being liable for any mechanical damage as stated on the contract. I understood that the contract explicitly stated that the transporter would not be responsible for any mechanical function damages- however, the attitude, professionalism, customer service, and approach of the business representatives were unbelievably dissatisfying and unacceptable. I received the drivers/company's insurance information and pertinent documents to file a civil/insurance claim and am currently still investigating. I did not pay him the remaining $1000.00+ that he kept insisting that I pay nor did I sign the receipt stating that it was delivered. In fact, I added to the receipt that the car was attempted to be delivered in "bad" condition unlike how it was previous to being picked-up.

This is all during my first time moving out-of-state and to say the least, across the nation, which is causing me much grief and anguish. The reader can imagine the type of stress and inconvenience this has caused a once excited and enthusiastic person moving from East-to-West Coast. I would not recommend this company nor would I recommend the third party that outsourced this job (ShipSmart). I will update this posting IF matters change.
