I did do a bit of study of the different carriers and the rates, etc. before I decided on Autolog. I chose autolog for the simple reason that they were not brokers and operated their own carriers and are based in NJ, my origin point. I did not have a pick up for my car, I dropped the car off at their head office on 06/19. My estimated delivery date was 07/05.

I called them a week or so after shipping and was told that the carrier was somewhere in Texas near Dallas. When I called again near the date of delivery, I got a completely different story and it turned out they had NOT SHIPPED my car with hardly a few days to go for their estimated delivery date. I was constantly given the go around from thereon whereby they would extend the date of delivery a few days at a time over and over again. My numerous attempts at getting the true status of the shipment was unsuccessful. In the end I was mighty relieved when I finally got the car on 07/23.

My car was very dirty and dusty but still without any major bumps/nicks. However, I noticed that there was an additional 35+ miles on my car from the odometer reading at the time of drop off and also a decorative idol I had on my dashboard was missing. What followed was a series of emails, phone calls and other communication by me trying to get an explanation and some courtesy reimbursement.

All Autolog did was to stand by the contract which, like every commercial agency does, states that the delivery dates are estimates and not binding. I was flatly told that I should have chosen guaranteed delivery to get any reimbursement for the delay. Also, they just refused to accept the additional miles on the car saying their delivery record did not say so and again stood by the contract which says they are not responsible for items missing from the car. The only service I received from them was a free delivery of my car at my house instead of having to pick it up from their delivery station.

All in all, it was a totally horrible experience. Autolog is simply out there to make money and does not care much about customer service. I figure the delay was simply due to them holding back the shipment of my car until they had enough orders to fill all the slots in the auto carrier. If you decide to ship with them, make sure you are aware of what you are getting into. My advice is - avoid them at all costs...
