I'm not so sure where the negative reviews came from, though it seems car transport can be a variable experience. I encountered a lot of difficulty finding someone to transport a newly purchased car from Iowa to south Texas. I contacted most of the highly rated lines, but found few willing to predict a shipping timeline (if going that way at all), and most were in the neighborhood of $1500 (enclosed). Finally, I called Autobahn, based on an ad in Corvette magazine, though with trepidation because of previous reviews. I spoke with Sam and he was quite helpful, quoting a price lower than most firms. He was able to arrange pick up within 12 hours of the purchase and door-to-door delivery less than 36 hours later. The driver, Robert, was great communicating his trip progress and was very accomodating when I requested a Saturday morning drop off (rather than late Friday night). One or two reviews mentioned poor communication of lack of courtesy - I found the exact opposite to be the case. I did call back once and got someone other than Sam on the line. That individual wasn't particularly helpful, so I asked for Sam and all was good again. In summary, I had a very positive experience and certainly can't argue with having the car in my garage (in flawless condition, no less) within 48 hours of purchase. Like I said, experience with transport companies may be as much a matter of timing and luck as the firm's abilities.
