I used this company to ship my son's 2002 Dodge Neon from New York to California. It was a big move and he had just finished college in another state, so relocating for us was very pricey. Not only did we have to ship his belongings, but we had to worry about shipping a car and on top of that airfare for him. So when we picked this company, of course it was only after reading the reviews. With only 21 reviews I was a bit nervous, however I decided to give Auto Transport 4 less a try because of the price/rating was one that you could not beat.

The driver's name was Nick. He worked for Arizona Auto Transport (the company that the car was to be loaded onto). I looked that company up and found out that they were not in good standings with the BBB. So I was extremely nervous about that.

Because New York streets are a bit small we had to meet the driver a couple of blocks from the house. Which was fine (even though I felt he could have came a little closer) however we did not mind. After the inspection we were all squared away and my sons car was being transported to California. It was picked up on the 24th of August. My son was to arrive in California September 3rd, to have his car arrive September 4th (because of the labor day holiday) so they held on to the car for a while.

This is where I think things went wrong. As they were keeping the car, the driver informed my son that his license plates were stolen off his car. It was a hassle for us because he had a Georgia plate (from his previous school) and since he was no longer considered a GA resident they refused to issue a new plate. So the car arrived in California without any plates, leaving us to have to pay to register the car in California sooner than we planned (we were already on a budget as I mentioned before).

The car arrived fine, it looked like it had fallen in mud, but everything was still in tact. His radio was still inside and no visible scratches (although it was hard to see under the dirt).

Would I ship again through Auto Transport 4 less? Only and if only they have a closed carrier. I think I would be better off finding a company that actually moved the vehicles and not referring it to other companies. I found that a bit strange. Especially since Arizona Auto Transport was not in good standing with the BBB.

Would I recommend Auto Transport 4 less? Yes I would, especially if you are trying to save money and want to actually have your car delivered to you. However I would warn that you get what you pay for, there is a chance that errors may occur. We were thankful that it was only a plate stolen. However if it were a closed carrier we may have not had that one issue.
