I have shipped cars 5 times in the past 15 years as I move for work fairly often. I have never had a good experience and I'd like to think that after 5 times, it's not me. What to expect:
1.) Final price not the same as the initial quote. You're dealing with a broker who is guessing what the driver will charge you. You never really know what the driver is going to charge you until the day before or so. Obviously, it's generally higher.
2.) The pick up and/or delivery won't be on time. The drivers simply aren't good at guesstimating when they'll be there so you're beholden to their schedule.
3.) The brokers aren't very good at staying into touch with you.
4.) Something funky has happened with your car in transit. Weird squeaks and scratches that weren't there before, etc.
So as it relates to Auto Shipping Group, numbers 1-3 apply. I guess if I had not had a lot of prior experience I would give a worse rating but among their peers they're just like everyone else.
I did take them down a notch because you get entered into a drawing to refund your entire fee if you give them a top rating.
