Was told that it would be a tough move by 5 different auto moving companies including Auto ship transport, that contacted me to move our "new" 1971 Plymouth fury iii 4 door sedan from Pineville Arkansas to Ellenburg Depot Newyork. A "tough move" because pick up and destination points were well off the beaten path, not close to any large city. The highest transport quote I received for move was $1400.00,from two different companies. The lowest quote was $850.00.Paul and Sal's quote was $975.00. The other 2 quotes were both $915.00. I talked to representatives of all 5 companies, they all told me it might take a while to find a carrier to move car from both areas, and it could cost more to get car moved because of this problem. The other problem was our "new" Plymouth is a "large" and rather heavy automobile. We ended up going with Auto ship transport because their original quote was in the middle of the road as far as quotes went. Also, we looked up all 5 transport company ratings, and Auto ship had the best rating.3 days after Auto ship had our business, Sal phoned to say that Paul was in talks with 2 carriers that might be interested to move our Plymouth, but because of the "dead head" miles that carrier would have to run off interstate to pick up our Plymouth (150 miles, roughly) and the out of route delivery destination, it was going to be a hard sell. He suggested that it might cost a bit more to move car than their original estimate. I already had a idea that it was going to cost more, We were prepared to pay as high as $1400.00 if need be, but I didn't tell them that. I did tell him to offer carrier more money if they had to. The next day Sal phoned back new cost would be $1040.00. Carrier picked car up Friday morning, and had it delivered to us safe and sound, on Sunday morning. We were very happy with move, first time that we ever had a car transported, and experience was good. It could only have been better if their original quote was bang on, but other than that we were very satisfied. We would recommend this carrier to move anyone's automobile, I do believe that our Plymouth was a tough, and unusual move.
