What a learning experience!
I have never had to transport a automobile before- so I made the first major error when beginning my search that I am going to share in hopes that it saves others from the ultimate nightmare!
DO NOT GO ON LINE AND FILL OUT A GENERAL QUOTE REQUEST!!! I did and I received emails, text and phone calls from every yahoo in the US; as in over 100! I am sure many of these companies may have been viable BROKER options- but the weeding out process was nothing short of BRAIN DAMAGE!
I narrowed it down to about 10 based on professionalism, price, and reviews.
I ended up using SunCoast as my broker and worked with Jon. He spent an hour explaining how the industry works and then how they work in finding a transporter. EVERYTHING HE SAID AND PROMISED was DELIVERED!
I was then called by Auto Movers LLC (hired by SunCoast). Our driver Tommy arrived and again, I needed some warm fuzzies- I was about to hand over a Jeep Cherokee and cash to some big dude in a big truck and trailer. Tommy was nothing short of A TRUE GEM! His truck and trailer were both IMMACULATE. He understood every concern I had- he told me horror stories he had heard over the years and invited me to take pictures of him, his truck, DOT number, Plates, and even a picture of his drivers license. He made me a part of the whole loading process, explaining what would happen in the next couple days as he picked up other cars, his route and estimated delivery!
No surprise given Tommy's integrity... the Jeep arrived in Minneapolis, MN from Greensboro,NC in 48 hours (a day early) and in PERFECT condition! Thank YOU!!!! YOU GUYS ROCK!!!
