Never came through for me with a carrier.

I contacted American Pride Autoride regarding my cross-country move from New York to California. I set up a starting pickup date around December 8, 2007 from New York City. Whenever I called to inquire about a pickup during the 10 days after the initial reservation, they stressed that a majority of the cars are picked up on Monday or Tuesday, and that the holidays and poor weather might cause a delay in shipment. They stated that they would increase the pay to carriers by $50 to help it move and that if it didn't go out in the next couple of weeks, it should move in January. Once I flew out to California, my friend moved the car to New Jersey over the Christmas holiday and I changed the point of origin to New Jersey. At this time, I was not in a huge rush to have the car in California, so I decided to hold out and see what would happen after the holidays. Nothing. As January rolled around, I continued to wait. No phone calls from American Pride. By the end of January, I needed the car for work. I called Dependable Auto Movers on January 24th, 2008 who quoted me $975 and it was on a carrier the next day. I called to request a refund of my $150 deposit from American Pride Autoride and it came about 2 weeks later. Needless to say, I wish I had read the reviews here in December and saved myself the headaches and inconvenience of troubling friends to watch my car!
