So this is my first time having a car shipped and I learned a lot about the process. I got quotes from 10 different companies ranging from $595 to 1500. Mind you, this was a van going from the mountains of Aspen to Houston at the end of October. I naïvely thought these companies all had personal drivers at work for them. NOPE. All of these companies use the same pool of drivers so any company that gives you a super low quote may not be able to get you someone. My first quote for $600 with another company ended up fruitless. (APL Had given me a higher quote So I didn’t go with them originally). I switched to APL and used Scotty & he was excellent. They tried their best to match my previous quote from another company but after having two drivers cancel on me he flat out told me it was bc of the money. Basically drivers will take a job but if something for more money comes along, they will cancel on you. The ONLY reason I knew they canceled was bc I checked up on it MYSELF! They never told ALP that they canceled.! So it was a surprise to ALP when I called them two times in a row telling them my driver backed out. They had no idea. This may be why people are having trouble with drivers not calling them or not showing up. It isn’t necessarily APL that is at fault. These drivers just take whoever pays the most money and leave everyone else hanging. After two failed pick ups, Scotty was honest with me and told me that he had someone but I needed to pay $300 more. I absolutely jumped on it! I then got in touch with the driver MYSELF and Confirmed the pick up time and delivery. You need to take a bit of responsibility and contact the driver through each step to make sure they do indeed pick up for you. As far as Customer Service, there’s no reason for anybody to be rude. I see the same name popping up on other reviews in regards to bad customer service. If you decide to use this company, I suggest you ask for Scotty.
