I was pretty unfamiliar with the process of shipping a car. I understood there were brokers that would reach out and find drivers for a fee and companies that ship themselves via their own drivers. I was told the route I needed was going to be driven by a company driver. We settled on a price, and I was told on the day of the pickup I would be billed $100 with the rest due on delivery. I was additionally informed that the day prior to pickup, I would be called to confirm pickup. The day of the pickup, I was supposed to be called to be given a time. All of that was reasonable. Day before pickup I heard nothing. Halfway through the day of pickup I heard nothing. I called, got voicemail, and left a message. When they called me back shortly after, I was told they had an issue with their driver and had to secure another. The new driver would necessitate that I pay $150 more than the agreed price. I wasn't comfortable that these people hadn't lived up to their word to this point; communication was poor and now it's more expensive? I wasn't willing to continue. I said never mind, cancel my pickup. I was told that was no problem. I asked if I would be billed. I was told no, the order is cancelled. OK. The next day I get called by a trucking company that was trying to get a job from these brokers, and I told him I cancelled the pickup the day prior because I didn't trust them. I was promptly billed $100 by American Premium Logistics who apparently left my pickup as active, and that was why the trucking company was responding. I called American Premium Logistics the next business day. Voicemail. I gave them the whole day to reply. Nothing. I opened a dispute with my credit card company. After about a week, my credit card company calls me to get the story. I took notes and have names, dates, and times. My credit card company attempts to call American Premium Logistics, can't reach anybody, so they escalate the dispute and refund me the $100. Two weeks later American Premium Logistics then bills me $150 one day and $150 three days later. What? Now my credit card is cancelled and I've opened additional disputes. This company doesn't do what they say, they explain things poorly, their only speed is sloth-like. Find another shipping company - it isn't these guys. This is the worst company I've ever dealt with.
