Don't Use this company!

This company, based in Spokane, WA, was subcontracted for me through Autozipper, which is a larger broker for auto transport. Autozipper was wonderful to work with, and I left them a good review on this site. American Auto Transport (aka US Auto Transport - don't be fooled - they are the same company - buyer beware!) was a different story. As I mentioned in my Autozipper review, while the driver arrived on time to pick up my car, I found out an hour after I thought he'd left, that in reality he was still sitting in my parking lot with his truck. He had run out of fuel!! What kind of company sends a driver who can't even keep enough fuel in his truck to get from point A to point B??? So the driver shambled over to us and asked my friend and I to take him to a gas station so he could get gas. Normally I would have just told him to call a cab, but we were on our way in that direction anyway, so we agreed. When we got there, he complained that they didn't have diesel at this station - but he never told us he needed diesel to begin with! So then we had to drive to ANOTHER gas station up the road, where he got his diesel fuel. We drove him back and it was only then that he thanked us, but he wasn't overly friendly up to that point and seemed to have an attitude about the whole thing, like it wasn't his fault or something. I was upset because I thought this delay might delay my vehicle getting to me. On the other end, I worked with Alex, one of the drivers, and he kept telling me he'd get to me the night of the 5th but then he never called me to update, so I had to waste precious cell phone minutes trying to track him down. When I finally got him, he just said "Oh I'll be there tomorrow morning between 9 and noon". I didn't hear from him by 10AM the next day, so once again, I had to waste my minutes to call and try to get an update, then he said "Oh it will be at least another 3.5 hours". he was completely un-apologetic and not very friendly about it. I felt like I was bothering him just by calling. Long story short - he finally called me at 8PM and was outside my door with the car. The car did not arrive with damage, but it was filthy. I knew it would be because of the open trailer, but there is still a lot of grime despite a car wash. Overall, I liked my experience with Autozipper but I would never, ever use American Auto Transport again, and I urge all of you not to either!! Save yourself the misery.
