READ THIS ENTIRE COMMENT: This was a very big decision for me and my family. We moved out of the country on short notice without having an opportunity to transport our inoperable “hobby” car from Chicago to Alabama. Despite the horror stories about some transport companies dropping cars off in the wrong city or state and leaving it to the owners to get them the final leg of the way, Dan Foster (American Auto Transport) went out of his way to make sure the trucking company followed through with their commitment (during the Christmas 2008 holidays). He returned emails and phone calls within a reasonable amount of time and took pride in calming our fears.

The only unusual thing was with the actual hauling company, First Light Transport. It snowed in Chicago prior to the pickup so First Light charged us an extra $100 over the agreed upon price. This was not authorized by American and Daniel agreed to take the $100 off of a future shipment. Although some people would be really upset over it, I was not actually too upset about paying the extra $100 as long as the car was delivered in one piece but still, First Light should not have added the extra “ice” charge.

Although First Light Transport charged us extra, they dug the car out of the snow and ice and delivered it just before Christmas as they said. Overall, I am definitely satisfied with Dan Foster and American Auto Transport.
