My daughter bought a new car in Columbia when she returned home from Korea. She wanted it shipped to Aberdeen, Maryland, which was her next duty station. My husband and I were also planning to drive to to Maryland and stay at a nearby hotel in Edgewood, Maryland.
I emailed five different transport companies and American Auto Transport was the only one to respond in less than twenty four hours with a quoted rate. Alex Whitaker called me and sent me several e-mails. He was very courteous, professional, knowledgable, and answered my questions.
Ten days after signing the contract, I received a call from Debbie and another female about Ativa Smith with Carolina Auto Carrier. He was a driver in my area who was leaving earlier than my pick-up and delivery date, because he had other cars to deliver near the same area, and bring back other cars.
Mr. Smith contacted me and we agreed on a pick-up date and time. When he came to pick up the car, he was prompt, professional, knowledgable, and courteous. He explained the transport process, examined the vechicle, and loaded it on the hauler. The car was delivered within twenty-four hours to the hotel. He called me several times to notify me of his locations. When he arrived at the hotel, he had a hotel staff member to examine the car, sign for it, and fax me the signed form. When my husband, daughter, and I arrived at the hotel two days later, we found the car to be in excellent condition. The hotel staff asked if everything with the car was all right.
Do not expect to get an e-mail confirmation or be thanked for your business form American Auto Transport after you sign the contract, but they got the job done in finding a good qualified driver.
