My sorrow story started on aug 13th 2009. I called up Fast Auto Transport, based on my friends reference and these guys sounded OK. Unfortunately the problem is with the company who moved my car. Ambela Inc.

Car pickup was OK, picked up on Friday supposed to deliver on Tuesday morning in Houston. Nobody called me until Tuesday evening. I started calling and nobody picked up the phone. Started calling again on Wednesday morning. After 15 mins of switching between operators, I finally got hold of a guy and this guy told me that trailer broke down some where in Virginia. This company, didn't care to inform that to me until I called'em.

Then he explained me that it'll be delivered by Saturday morning, I asked him to confirm it. He said he wouldn't be sure. I asked for compensation, he asked me to call the owner. Again, I called the owner (customer service ain't their thing). Guy apologizes, but can't pay any compensation. If I ask him twice he mentions that he's loosing $18000 on his truck repairs. So I remained polite and asked him date, he said he can't be sure.

So in the mean time, I spent $80 on cabs and $200 on rental car for my commute.

I called him again on Thursday, got an answer that car will be delivered on Saturday morning for sure, which I didn't believe anyways. So got a call from driver on Saturday evening that car will be delivered on Sunday morning. But he didn't care to take my address.

Here comes the best part.

I got a call on Sunday 7.50 am, didn't pickup the call as I was asleep. He didn't leave a message. Then I called him twice to give my address and all. Now driver called me around 10 AM and mentioned that trailer broke down again and he's at Houston downtown Truck stop. He asked me to come up and pickup the car if I need the car urgently. If I don't pick it up now, it might take days again to deliver it. I had a quarrel with him on the phone, and he says he's just doing his job. I said I'll pick it up but you need to pay for my cab. He says he can only pay 25. I said cab costs $58. He said he can only pay $25 and he has to call his boss for confirmation. Then he didn't call me for the next 2 hours. After repeated calls and messages, he called me up and said that he'll only pay $25

I requested my roommate and he took me to the truck stop. Having lost faith in these people I only paid them exact cash. They don't deserve any tip.

Now what're the odds that two trailers will break down in one trip. This company are into LYING and DISHONESTY. Nothing is communicated to the customer until you call'em up and ask'em. I spent $280 on my commute while I was waiting for my car. And the compensation I got is $25.

One advice to first time car movers. When you get quotes from moving companies, ask'em who's moving your car. If they can't tell you, skip that company. Once you get the name, google'em and look for customer ratings. If Ambela is moving you car, just say NO to that moving company. Trust me, you wouldn't regret that!!
