If you are thinking of using this company, please go and get your head checked! I picked Alpine Auto because they were listed as a shipping quote on a EBay purchase. Big mistake!! They gave me a fair quote of $536 for a car from Boston to Pittsburgh. When the car was ready to be picked up, they were notified, and was told the car would be picked up within 7 to 10 days. After many calls, being told it was still in dispatch, and 3 weeks later, I had enough. On my last phone call I asked if the pick up had been set up yet and was told no. I asked about their policy on refund, and was told if it was not set up yet I could cancel and get a refund. I canceled!
Now the fun begins. I called 2 to 4 times a day, for 3 more weeks, asking about my refund, PAID FOR WITH A DEBIT CARD, and kept getting transferred to "Cindy Beechers" voice mail. After 3 weeks I got Beecher on the phone and was told that debit cards take longer to refund than a credit card. I explained that I own my own business and know that not to be true. She said she would check on it and call me right back. GUESS WHAT, she never called me back. I own a trucking company, and found a local trucking company close to Alpines offices. I was in the process of taking them to the local court, as the local trucking company I found was going to show up in my place as a favor, trucker to trucker.
THIS IS IMPOORTANT: I contacted my bank to find out the name and branch of the bank they transferred my money to. The manager of my bank said, wait a minute, since you used a debit card, and the services were not delivered, they would go after Alpine shippers. I had my money back in my account in 7 days! The name of my trucking company is "Marks Trucking, Sarver Pa 16055" . I want those lying, cheating, low life thieves to know who wrote this review.
As a side note, I collect classic cars and have used U Ship 4 different times with no problem. I should have stuck with them.
As aside note. When I called EBay for help, with one of their contractors, they basically said "Oh well".
A third and final side note. I had the car hauled by Magnum Transport, I dealt with Tony the owner, $50 up front, $550 on delivery, and the car was picked up and delivered in 3 days!!!
Why do I even have to give these crooks one star?
