Quote online must have been Error?!?!?

I asked for a quote in June to ship a car from San Antonio to New Hampshire got a price of $895.. great deal, right? I had to arrange some stuff with a military member overseas with limited communication ability, and therefore couldn't book until this week. Called back to schedule, and was given a price of $1150- big difference. When asked why it changed, was told that the original quote must have been an error, and that the website just gives out numbers sometimes. Weird way to run a business, but okay. I get a 2-3 calls later that day saying that there is a spot open on a transport leaving the next morning, and that they were able to get the price down to 1000 for me if I'm able to change my drop off to Massachusetts so call back and schedule. Again, I'm dealing with a military member overseas, so I have to contact them and see if that price works for them while having to deal with a time difference and communication restrictions (gotta love the middle east), and I am able to call Allied back at 7 am to go ahead and schedule, I get a voicemail saying they aren't open till 9 am, so I leave a message. No return call at 9, when they open.... so I call them back at 945 and they "haven't heard from the driver" so they're not sure if there is an opening after all, and that I should have called back yesterday to schedule when they called me. The people I have talked too have been rude and not helpful at all. They changed the price with a shady reason. I am looking for other transport companies, this one is a joke.

This customer requested a quote on 7/09 with a ship date of 7/25 which in June it was cheaper going this route. When the customer called us yesterday on 8/28 and explained her situation ( that this is a military move ) we then explained the price of the quote was more expensive and driving companies were asking for more money do to the holiday.The customer decided to book the order at that point. It was also explained to the customer that we had no payment due until we confirmed a spot on the truck but it was a time sensitive matter and when we contacted her with the spot she would have to get back with us ASAP as we could not reserve without customers approval. We did everything we could to get a driver ASAP and for the best price which we did. We contacted the customer 5 hours after the booking to give her the great news. We had located a driver for a cheaper price then we had quoted and pick up was for the following morning. Unfortunately we could not get the customer back on the phone, we left several voice mails with no return call until this morning and by that time the driver had filled the spot. We truly wish things would have went differently although we do understand the dilemma with having to confirm with people that are overseas but unfortunately the drivers don't wait. We explained all this to the customer this morning and stated we are working on getting another driver to ship the car and would be in touch once we had it confirmed.
