I requested a quote to ship my Dad's car for him from Colorado to Nevada. I got several calls from various companies and this one seemed nice and and helpful. I told the gentleman that I was not sure what day we wanted to ship but Nov 17 would be my goal but I was not sure. He told me that he was going to send a contract so that the quote could be locked in. I fully planned to use them if we shipped so I figured it would be good to lock in the rate. The contract had no date or address because it was a quote. I got a call the day before Nov 17 and was told that a driver had been dispatched and was on his way to Denver. That is just crazy, we had not date locked in and the driver did not even have the address!! The car had transmission issues and my brother told me that it was not in any condition to drive so we were still trying to figure out how to get back in shape. I told the gentleman that we could not ship and that night I got a fee!!! 99 dollar cancellation fee for something that was not even set up yet. I called the company and was hung up on. It took me about 20 tries and a gentleman told me that he apologized for the mix up and was sending the request for refund up to accounting and it could take 72 hours. I called back and sent several emails because the fee was never put back in my account. I even offered to split the fee and never heard back. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and will take them to small claims court if this is not resolved.
