I called Allegiant and spoke to Carlos. I explained to Carlos that I had listed with another Auto Transport Broker to move my vehicle but it had been over a week and I had not heard from the company nor would they return my calls. Carlos advised me the company I was dealing with was a scam company and asked if they required an up front charge. I explained to him they had and he stated he would help me recover that charge if I cancelled with the other company and contracted with them. I did cancel with the other company and was finally able to speak with someone and they actually refunded my deposit with no help from Carlos. Carlos then stated he could ship my stock 1996 Trans Am from Boise, ID to Dixmont, ME for $900 and there would be no charge for anything until the vehicle was picked up. Carlos also told me it would be picked up within 48-72 hours. I explained to Carlos I had already spent a week trying to ship this vehicle and that I needed it to ship within that time frame. Carlos assured me if I contracted with them it would ship within that time frame because the price they quoted was more realistic to ship from and to those locations (the price was $200 higher). I agreed and he stated he would send me the documents but needed me to sign them immediately so they could list it quickly and get it shipped. I had previously shipped a vehicle with them from Florida to Maine with no issues so I signed the contract without question. The 72 hours passed without a word. It was now the weekend and I was told when I called that it was high on the priority list and would be discussed Monday when everyone came back into work. I also confirmed the price was still $900 and Carlos told me it had been increased to $1300!! I told him I wasn't told about this and he said they needed to increase the amount to get the vehicle shipped because the pick up and drop off locations were so remote. Carlos assured me that at this price, it would ship immediately. I had received several quotes from other companies and this was the average of what the others, that I did not go with due to the higher cost, were quoting when I started looking for someone to ship my vehicle. I agreed because I needed to get the vehicle shipped at this point. I called the company the next day to check on this as I felt this was requiring more attention. I was informed by Joyce in customer support that a driver had been dispatched and would be picking the vehicle up that morning. I had received no notice from anyone prior to this. Joyce stated she would send me information on the driver and he would be contacting the dealer to pick up the vehicle. I called the dealer to let them know the vehicle had been scheduled to be picked up. The dealer told me the driver had contacted them already and they had confirmed the pickup location and, more importantly as it turns out, the year, make, and model of the vehicle to be picked up. A few hours went by and I received a call from the driver and he advised he could not pick the vehicle up as it sat too low. He told me if he loaded it would scrape the front bumper and he didn't want to damage the vehicle so he wasn't going to take the vehicle. I was glad he recognized that he couldn't load it and didn't damage the vehicle but thought it odd he didn't know that from the type of vehicle it was as it is STOCK with NO modifications when he said he would take the transport. I called the dealership to get their side of what was going on and they stated the carrier had a very old transport vehicle that couldn't load a vehicle that sat low and would probably have trouble with a Toyota Corolla. I called Allegiant and they asked the height of the vehicle and I explained to them it was a STOCK Firebird and was not modified. They stated the carrier should have known whether they could take it before they agreed to transport it but that they would look for someone else to transport the vehicle. It had been 10 days since I listed with them and I needed to get the vehicle transported so I explained to Carlos I may have to cancel with them to go and get the vehicle myself and drive it back. Carlos assured me he could get it shipped and asked me to give him more time. I was sent information on another driver and called him immediately. The driver stated his company took the transport but when they called him he explained he didn't have room for the vehicle so they cancelled the pickup. The next day I called and told Joyce I was cancelling the transport with them. Joyce then stated they couldn't get anyone to pick up the vehicle until the following Wednesday (miraculously they had a carrier) which would have been 16 DAYS after I contracted with them (with no guarantees for pickup based on past pickups). I told Joyce I was cancelling and flying out to drive the vehicle back myself. Joyce said that was no problem and they would take me off the dispatch board and she would let Carlos know. I received a cancellation e-mail from Carlos and it said I was all set and cancelled. No mention of any charges or fees. Later that day, I RECEIVED NOTICE THAT MY ACCOUNT WAS CHARGED $299!!. I called and was transferred to Carlos, Joyce, Matt, Johnny, and Denise over the course of 10 phone calls with everyone telling me they can't do anything about it and I would have to talk with someone else. I was finally transferred to someone claiming to be the manager. He told me it was company policy and there was nothing he could do. I explained I didn't believe it was right to pay for anything as nothing was done. He said he understood and that he could give me a credit for that amount towards my next shipment. I explained I would never ship with them again after this experience so it was useless. We went back and forth with me explaining that it was unethical to charge someone for nothing after telling them the vehicle would ship in 48-72 hrs and 11 days later telling them it would be another 5 days and cost $400 more!! All he said was he understood but all he could do was give me a credit towards my next shipment. This company is a scam and just tells you what you want to hear until you cancel and they can charge you $299 for NOTHING!!!!!!!

Allegiant strongly disagrees with this position Gerald is taking and we appreciate the opportunity to rebuke his remarks. Gerald's argument is inherently flawed and unwarranted due to the following reason- the customer did in fact receive services rendered by our company - our company dispatched multiple car carriers to pick up the vehicle. Also, the customer modified the shipping details multiple times without warning, which caused delays and disruption and prolonged the pick up process. In fact, Allegiant has successfully shipped vehicles for this customer in the past. It's unfortunate, but this rating inaccurately reflects the way our company treats our customers and conducts our operations. The justification for a cancellation fee is the cost applied by Allegiant and our carrier exhausting resources for the sake of serving Gerald or any customer at that matter. No different than a hotel or flight accommodation our company does assess a cancellation fee if the customer cancels with no warning and within a designated time frame. Our policies are set according to the industry standards and there is nothing unique or original about our policies. Again, just as if one booked a hotel room at a hotel or airplane ticket, then cancelled on the day of the booking, there will be a fee. We also offered this customer a credit in the value of our cancellation fee to highlight our integrity, meanwhile Allegiant is still responsible to reimburse our carrier for their loss. Nonetheless, Allegiant was willing to take this loss in order to satisfy this repeat customer. It's unfortunate Gerald is displaying such rigor and passion to inaccurately highlight our company on the internet, but we strongly believe most customers understand the transparency of the internet and the overwhelming positive reviews our Allegiant has received. To all of our future customers, we appreciate Gerald's feedback and we will do everything we can to improve our service for you. Please notice the 500+ positive reviews our company has received within a two year window and please don't let one loud voice create any negative influence on your decision making process.
