After reviewing several moving companies,I decided to try Allegiance to move a 1923 ford t bucket that is not running and needs complete refurbishing.
Timeline is 1/20/2009 to 2/4/2009
I was advised that they have the resources to move the vehicle and they will post the move when the paperwork was recieved at a move cost of $770.00
I faxed the documentation within an hour of receipt on 1/22/2009 and my account was accessed 2 days later for a $185.00 fee.
What happen to right away??
I recieved 1 call 3 days later stating my first move date was that day and nobody picked up the job yet.
A week later, i called and used the check your move and spoke to Adi. I advised Adi that the dealer needed to get the car moved soon as he needed the room. Adi advised me he would POST( it appears it was not posted yet) my move on the board and he knew of 2 drivers in Colorado headed east and he would call back, when Adi called , I was astonished at what he stated, a driver could pick the vehicle up for an additional $285.00 and they would cover $100.00 of it.
The total cost would have been $955 plus the $100.00 they allegedly cover.
My contract was $770.00 not $1,055
Appearantly it would take the driver a complete day to travel 1 1/2 hrs from route 70, load the car and travel back to route 70
Sorry but I had been an independant trucker cross country in the trucking industry for 8 years and to take a full day to drive, load and drive is not correct even having to move cars around
I was contacted via e-mail after I sent an e-mail regarding the additional fee and was advised it was an offer and they were bound to tell me about it, yet that was a rush, make a decision right then and there.
The dealer advised me this week 2/3/2009 that the company they use are good and quick, so all said and done, I went with them and my car was posted with the other broker on 2/3/2009 and my car is now being picked up on 2/5/2009 at a fee of $850.00
The dealer also contacted me and advised another driver of unknown company, unknown blocked phone number called them and stated he was picking up my car on 2/5/2009
This was unanounced to me, do not know if he represents Allegiance or not because i never recieved a call from the driver, Allegiance or anybody else and under no circomstances does and unknown driver-company do business with me.
It clearly appears that Allegiance was watching boards and when the dealers company posted my car, they disspatched a driver to move my car so they do not lose the business, well, I do not have that for a fact, but you can bet i will have the facts before the end of the week.
Anyhow, there are alot of Independant car moving companies out there, do your homework and visit, independantcarmovers.com or bbb.com or autotrader.com
There are alot of GOOD Independent companies and there is NO need for shady brokers.
