They cheated on you, the customer, by performing a very unhealthy practice to other competitors in the business. They lured you to sign a contract with them with a very promising rate ($950 total in my case, from Massachusetts to California). I was stupid enough to do it and put in $195 deposit. The rest $755 would be due when delivery. There was no pick-up, probably because they could not find any driver to accept such a low rate. Then their customer service call forcing me to accept a driver for $1025. I refused doing so because it wasn't what I had in the contract. Then they said that figure, $755, is only an ESTIMATE. They also threatened me that the truck driver would auction my car if I don't pay $1025. Have you ever worked with a business that THREATS its customers ? And guess what, the deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE.

The whole thing now turns out a scam and of course the only loser is me, which I'm now gladly accepting because it was my fault not doing enough research. The competition in this business is tough, but cheating on the customers and other competitors to win contracts MUST BE STOPPED.

So, lesson learned: check your contract document carefully before you sign. Be careful with words such as Estimation, Non-Refundable.... And NEVER EVER pay an upfront deposit to any broker. There are good brokers out there who don't require deposit at all.
